can the denoiser kick in earler? Now it takes about 4 seconds before it kicks in and in simple scenes that is about 40 iterations on my card. I would like to see it denoised from the first frame.
when will the “select objects” through the interface thing be fixed?
If I rotate the view while Raytraced view is loading the scene the view change isn’t updated, until I slightly rotate it a bit more after it has kicked in, then it rotates from the already changed view that hasn’t been updatet yet. It would be good if the view manipulations done while it loads were registered.
I miss having start resolution in V7, even on the new machine manipulating views in Raytraced is too slow compared to V6 with this on. I know it was on the todo list, is it still?
Have emitting materials changed their power? When I open an older scenes lit by objects with emitting materils they seems overlit.
Yes, PBR with emission sat to 10.
It might have been some old sticky settings from updating the WIP for many years though… hard to know. All I know is that the files from WIP all render brigther (read burns out slightly) now. I can do some more testing if this is new to you guys.
I also found that nVidia denoiser isn’t working on the new machine, does it require some additional install thing, or is the packagamanager installer enough? (Intel denoiser works fine)
Hi Jorgen, As far as I know, the nVidia denoiser works from Packagemanager as is though you may need to close and reopen Rhino. What happens, anything, when you enable it, or does it not show up? Make sure the plug-in is enabled in Options > Plug-ins page as well.
PBR materials and the inputs for those have changed quite a bit overall so I would not be surprised if old files behave differently
The nVidia denoiser shows but doesn’t do anything. Works great on the other machines though. And worked on the old machine when the rtx 2060 super was in that one. Machine rebooted as well.
I believe denoisers kick in after 1 second, but I may be mistaken. @DavidEranen or @andy know better.
HUD clicking is fixed in upcoming 7.4.
It depends if I get notified here or not. If @pascal could log a bug for this (just came out of grocery store at 02:30, sitting in parking lot now)
Progressive resolution refining, and PixelSize are still on my list yes. Right after I land native decals support in Cycles
Possibly. At some point automagic scaling of numbers based on model unit was introduced. This happens before I get the data. I don’t recall if it was also for emission intensity, probably it was.
