Using the Isolate command bring up the Selection Filter

When I use the Isolate command in R8, it is also bringing up the Selection Filter window. Is that a feature or is there a way to disable it?

When I use the Isolate command in R8, it is also bringing up the Selection Filter window.

It does that when the selection filter panel was floating and then closed.
This behavior is on the list to be looked at: RH-74751 Isolate: opens Filters
For the time being, you can dock it somewhere out of the way, e.g. as a tab on the right-hand container:
