URGENT: File not opening after Rhino WIP update!

Help!

My file is not opening after updating just now, It previews fine in Windows Explorer… Another recent file opens fine.

I really need it back and I cannot open it in version 8!

From your image, it appears to be stuck in the meshing phase of opening the file.
Have you tried starting a new file, setting all viewports to Wireframe and then importing this file?

Yes, the file imports ok after setting VPs to WF mode, then it shades okay.

Perhaps one of the viewports in the original file is in a technical display mode?
If you post the file, we can double-check to make sure there isn’t a regression in the newer builds of the WIP.

Thanks Wim, As far as I’m aware, Technical mode was not activated.

Were there clipping planes in the model? We recent made a change to use a new low level intersector that our geometry team has been writing and this would affect things like computing the section information when clipping planes exist.

I have 2 planes, one is active, in the original V9 file.

In the re-imported V9 file, the planes are inactive upon opening the file. Enabling one of them crashes Rhino and leaves some extra files in the folder – see attached. The second plane eventually activates after a few (long) seconds!

Does this help in any way?

I had to import the file into a new session and save back to Rhino 8 so I can continue working and using the clipping planes. Doing this has lost all of the customisation to the dimensions, saved viewports etc.

Do you think I can get up and running today back in version 9? Otherwise, can I re-install the previous update so I can continue uninterupted?
