New Rhino update will not open files

The new update crashes each time I open R9 WIP. These files were created in R9 so I don’t get why they don’t open. This is an emergency.

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling?

Does opening Rhino in Safe Mode help?

Can you start Rhino and get an empty file by clicking the “New” button on the splash screen?

Please send me one of your files that is crashing. I made some optimizations this week that may be related to this bug. If I can repeat the crash, we’ll get a fix in place right away.

I have a fix in place and will send you an updated WIP once one becomes available which usually takes several hours.

One of the images in the file was not properly being read by Rhino. The older code just silently failed when this happened and now the newer code is obviously just crashing Rhino. I’ll send you a link to a new build in a private message.

RH-90988 is fixed in Rhino WIP

I didn’t see that fix on the list of updates. However, the problem i had and was given the ID RH-90458 was not on the list either. Are they the same?

Hello again Steve,
I installed the new update today and I am having a similar problem as with the last update. I cannot open my drawing. It is not the same drawing that I sent you before and it is a bigger file, R9 tried for almost 8 minutes then crashed.

Darn, sorry about that Joe. I had to make a last minute change to revert some of the functionality I added for this because what I added ended up breaking functionality with regards to pasting screenshots into Rhino on Mac. I’ll start looking at this again with your model to try and get this fixed as soon as possible.

I was able to load the file that you previously sent in the WIP, so I may need another upload from you to make sure I’m testing against the right file.

OK. The only consideration is that the that wouldn’t open is bigger.

That fix was not my problem. Between actions R9 takes forever to permit another action.
