Rhino WIP update renders programme useless on my machine

Sorry. don’t know how else to explain this.

Newest WIP ()updated 1 hr ago) will not open model I was working on..

After 20 minutes waiting (watching egg timer) I clicked on File Save As, followed by more waiting until finally I could save off as a Rhino 8 file and carry on working.

An empty file opens fine, so I checked OpenGL settings etc.. and they are identical to Rhino 8.. but I can’t use WIP for the time being it just won’t open and run as well as Rhino 8 on a big model for me. Was working fine up until update

Hi Bill -

You shouldn’t be looking at OpenGL settings in the Rhino 9 WIP…
Please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino 9 and copy-paste its output in a reply.

Also, since this seems file-specific, it’d help if you could send us a3dm model that we can take a closer look at.

Thank you Wim, Here’s the SystemInfo.

What’s the best private email / link to send to I don’t want to post on a public forum as it’s commercially sensitive. Thanks,

Hi Bill -

In Rhino Options -> View -> GPU please switch from OpenGL to Direct3D.
Does that make a difference?
-wim

Sorry @Normand , @wim I only just picked up both of your messages. I switched back to V8 to get a couple of ‘urgent’ projects over the line. I’ll switch back to V9, and report back with further issues, and try the adjusted setting you mention Wim. Thanks
