Help! trying to unroll the surface of this tire so i can add tread. I have to use smash then the unroll command but the unrolled surface is not straight. I’m pretty sure the tire is perfectly round. see attached image. Thank you
Can you post a .3dm file with the tire and the tread that you would like to add?
Hi David, here is the file. I don’t have a tread pattern designed as of yet. Thank you!
RTX_BAJA_WHEEL.3dm (7.0 MB)
Your tire is not symmetric from side to side. That is probably causing the curvature in Smash result. Also it would be very unusually for an actual tire shape to be asymmetric side to side.
I assume you will use FlowAlongSrf. The base surface does not have to be obtained directly from the target surface. Any surface can be used as the base surface.
interesting for sure. thank you i will see if flow along surface will work
HI David,
when i use the flow along surface command the items are only placed on the target surface along the x axis and i need to flow along the y axis. Thoughts?
Use FlowAlongSrf
, not Flow
