This can be a combination of two factors:
Hi Piotr, Experimenting with different combinations of UV and Normal directions, UnrollSrf will mirror or rotate the results 180 degrees, but the unrolled UV orientation seems to be fixed ie: apparently there is no way to change whether U will be oriented along X or Y. In the image, I would like the unrolled intersection curve to be oriented along the X axis.

my guess:
all developable surfaces are ruled surfaces.
and it looks like the ruling line along one edge (smallest uv-value ?) will be parallel to the x-axis.
… just a guess.
I think it is important, that the UVN directions follow the right hand rule.
