Unable to open Rhino 7

This is the second time I have encountered this problem. When trying to start Rhino 7, on the loading screen it closes down when it’s trying to load the “Displacement” plug-in. But sometimes it stops at other plug-ins like “3Dconnexion 3D mouse” so I’m not sure what is the exact problem. Last time the problem sort of went away after I opened Rhino in safe mode but it’s not working this time. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but nothing seems to be working.

Hi Hui Wen Tan,

Lets try a repair install, go to Add/Remove Programs>Rhino 7> Modify>Repair

Then try opening in Safe Mode and disable any 3rd party plugins via Properties>Plugins> (sort by plugins that do not ship with Rhino)

If you are able to open in safe mode please run SystemInfo in the Rhino command line and post the result.

Hi, thank you for responding. I have followed the steps, below is the results:

Unfortunately I still cannot open Rhino 7 itself. I am not sure if this is relevant, but I also just found out that my NVIDIA graphics driver is not working, though the default Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics driver is working properly.

Very relevant, try doing a clean install of your NVIDIA driver.

In the NVIDIA installer choose Custom and the enable the Clean Driver Install option.

Hi, thanks again for the response. I am unable to install the NVIDIA driver because it does not detect an NVIDIA GPU. It seems that my NVIDIA graphics card is somehow disconnected, so I may have to find a way to fix that.

But for some reason, Rhino 7 is operating again even though I have not done anything since the last time. So just reporting back the situation, that there might have been other additional reasons for Rhino 7 not working.

In any case it’s at least running now, so thank you so much for your help!
