Troubles with Vector Output Print

Hi!.

Well. I’ve been trying to make all documentation inside rhino and using visualArq.. it is tricky.. I still hope it can be done. For this I rely a lot on the “plan views”.. and “section views”

A big problem I found today is that the Dashed lines inside the plan view are printed incorrectly in using wireframe viewstyle.(this problem is solve is I explode the plan view.. so the problem is the planview itself)

BUT.. if I switch to HIDDEN viewstyle, the Dashed lines print ok.. but all other regular blocks inside rhino are completely destroyed in the print.

So my guess is about how Visualarq interprets the units (failing to render a dashed line as many small segments.. or converting a circle into a square on the other case). but it is unerving that the “print preview” is displaying something correclty, but print that is not possible.

I’ll appreciate your help in solving this issue. allowing to print either in wireframe or in hidden viewstyle.. Thank you!.

Hi @mutarq, I’ve tried to print that page (detail in Hidden display) using Rhino PDF printer with 1200 dots/inch ressolution, and apparently everything (door dashed lines and block lines) prints as expected. Attach the result.
PLANTA BAJA.pdf (40.2 KB)

Which PDF printer are you using? and which is the output resolution?

Hi @fsalla!.. THank you for looking at this.

Unfortunately the file that you shared shows a lot of missed lines and changed geometry in the blocks that I mentioned.. I’m attaching a screenshot of your print to compare with the rhino file (missing lines in the bed.. and missing lines circles changed into diamonds).

AS you can see, that does not happens in wireframe viewstyles (actually at this moment wireframe seems more consistent.. but the dashed lines in vaPlanViews are not printed correctly).. I tried your trick of changin the print resolution too in wireframe. but that does not improve.

I’m attaching here images of prinitng in Hidden.

And just as a final note. I use RhinoPDF.. and I find kind of curious that printing in vector output in Hidden viewstyle is dependant of the pixel resolution for raster . because it actually improved a little when I changed from my usual 300 ppi to your suggestion in 1200 ppi.. (or even slightly better into 3600 ppi) .. but that will come at a (filesize) cost.. when printing pages that have both raster and vector information.

Thank you again for your work improving va.. hope there is a solution for printing correctly the vaPlanview in wireframe .. or this regular blocks in hidden (by the way the “washing machine” is not a block and you can see that it prints correctly)

Hi @mutarq you are right. I didn’t notice those errors before. I’ve seen that printing in Wireframe when VisualARQ is disabled works better in this case. We will investigate why this happens and fix these errors.
