Triangular mesh from a patch of a cloud of dots

How to create a triangular mesh from a polysurface made with the patch tool starting with a cloud of dots? When i try to to a mesh, i get a squary grid mesh, but it feels like its a nurb and not polygons.

TriangulateMesh will turn the mesh quads into triangles. But the mesh will still have the Patch UV structure. Otherwise, you might try MeshPatch directly on the point cloud.
