Toolbar Buttons: why the macro display in "menu"?

why are some of these showing as macros when there isn’t a command on the left hand side?

Welcome to Rhino’s marvelous toolbar macro system… customization without limits. Uhhh, well, sorta…

On one of my installs I get the macro thing as you show. On another I get things in

Czech

or even Chinese

AFAIK this is all the result of copying buttons and then changing what’s inside the copies. The button seems to have a (faulty) memory of what was in it before. Amazing that it speaks so many languages but doesn’t seem to be able to distinguish between them at times (Czech and Chinese are not installed on my system).

Also amazing - and not in a good sense - is you can clear all that stuff out, but when you install a new service release, it all comes back. EVERY TIME.

guilty as charged. the poor toolbar system. they were going in a better direction but they abandoned it i guess.

probably why my custom toolbar set is 25mb. that is pretty large isn’t it?

Copying buttons to create new ones is a really handy thing - I wouldn’t want to do without it. More painful to create a new blank one and then import the bitmaps.

You got me beat - mine’s only 11 Mb. But the Default is already 8.7. Yours is that big probably because not only are all the new buttons in there, but also all of the original ones. I don’t think the file size can cause a real problem.

oooh yeah, i’ve been working with my custom set since 5. there are 20+ dupes of some of them. but it’s nearly impossible with how rhino duplicates bars and macros

I don’t know if it helps in this case, but testFindDuplicateMacros

Well, to be honest, most of my custom buttons these days are scripts.

NO FAIR! you’re cheating, i can see that photoshop work

Here is the result from my other machine:
Dropdown (flyout):

Pulled out (tear-off)

The above mess is on a laptop with a 4K screen and 225% display scaling. It will be the subject of another bug report.
