The render window renders a very small image of my drawing

I am using Rhino WIP for Mac. There are still a lot of problems with rendering in Rhino. However the most urgent is that I have a drawing with dimensions of 165x193 cm at 250 dpi. When I set these dimensions in the render panel, the -ViewportCapture toFile and _ViewportCapture ToFile then select render I get a super small rendering that takes 1 second to render and is no way near the real size. I have never seen this before.

I think I understand what I did. I reduced the window size in order to have less background to render and that subsequently reduced the size of my drawing. I also used the custom viewport as well. I copied my drawing into another window and used the default settings and the drawing renders OK.

ViewCaptureToFile and ViewCaptureToClipboard do not use the render settings for result size.

Instead use _Render if you your intention is to capture Raytraced results. Do that without having the viewport in Raytraced mode - the same engine will be used.

For other display modes you’ll still use ViewCaptureToFile or ViewCaptureToClipboard

OK, thanks.

Hello Nathan,
I have been using Rhino WIP Mac and I have continual problems with the « pizza » appearing after any use of a tool. Especially when in the « render mode ». Often times even when not executing a command the wheel turns. This increases the work time for any project. Is this a WIP problem or the effects of a large file?
Thanks
Joe

Do you mean Raytraced?

I have not made any changes yet to Rhino WIP, so I can’t say what it relates to.

But if it is Raytraced then perhaps don’t use that as your regular working mode, but only when you need to check layout and lighting quickly before rendering a final render.

Anyway, if the WIP is giving issues you can start a new thread in Serengeti (Rhino WIP) > Rendering WIP .

Thanks. I started a new drawing and when I go to « render » mode WIP is a bit slow. But, with a drawing that is rather big 350 M WIP has problems. I will start the thread. Another thing is the application of textures that seems very eratic and follows no logic as to how textures are applied to a form. The making it difficult to be precise.
