Weird stuff going on with text that makes it hard to use as a live-annotation tool.
I have a void that needs to be positioned inside a berm. I’m using a clipping plane to cut into the the void to make sure the top and the clear height are adequate and using text to annotate the height every 2-ish ft along the length of the void.
However, it is impossible to view the text in a parallel plane and in the direction of the clipping plane…which is intuitively the way anyone would work to position this void inside a form:

Current workaround is orient the view/cplane in the opposite direction of the clipping plane and work in wireframe mode. Manageable for working models, but not anything more:
Why is this happening? The glitch happens with default text component, OpenNest Text, and Human screen-oriented text.
UPDATE:
Issue seems to occur when “only draw previews for selected objects” is toggled with shaded display mode in grasshopper.
