Text Leading (Spacing between lines)

Using Rhino 8: Why can’t I decrease the leading in my text? Isn’t that the “text gap” setting?

Hi,

No, the “text gap” is the distance between the dimension text and the dimension line it sits on.

Sorry, there is no facility to control leading in Rhino.

Regards
Jeremy

Thank you for explaining the “text gap” function, that’s very helpful!
I know there must be a way to control leading because one of my text settings is fine (the lower one in this photo) but the other text style is too widely spaced:

Edit: Ah, looks like that was built into the fonts themselves. So if I want smaller leading I have to use a different font altogether. Weird! Too bad there’s no way to control leading :frowning:
Thank you again!

Out of interest, what are the two fonts in your picture?

Hi Jeremy! Sorry for the delayed reply. It seems I’m unable to attach fonts here on the forum but they’re both variants of Proxima Nova. I ended up deleting any variants of Proxima Nova from my system and then re-downloading the font family from Adobe and that solved the issue. My guess is I had some sort of corrupted free version of the font that wasn’t working properly!
