Hi all,

since the use of AI, I got used to Shift + Enter to create a new line (the equivalent of “\n”) because just Enter would send the message.

At some point this muscle memory translated to the Rhino and Grasshopper environment.
I discovered that the scribble component in grasshopper uses the opposite of this logic: Enter results in a new line (\n) and Shift + Enter accepts the changes.

Hi It seems that in the latest updates the way you exit from a text edit changed? It used to be I could make a change to a text object then hit escape and move on. Now it does not apply those changes unless i mouse over to the OK button. Is there any way to disable this or go back to escape simply exiting the window? It seems trivial, but mousing over to the OK when I’m editing large numbers of notes on a drawing really adds up to a lot of time. Thanks!

Ctrl + Enter accepts changes in rhino, Enter results in a new line:

press Ctrl+Enter instead to exit the dialog box.

Since I unconsciously know that clicking Control-Key + Enter does the opposite of pressing just Enter, I’m not really bothered by the inverted logic (Microsoft Excel for example, also uses Alt + Enter to create a new line inside the cell, and Enter to accept the changes) but I am somewhat itched by having to deliberately think of whether I need to press Ctrl or Shift in Rhino coming from Grasshopper.

I just wanted to point this out, one small UX inconsistency between Rhino and Grasshopper… Me, personally, I prefer Shift + Enter everywhere.
