Tensile structure + kangaroo

unhandled

(Omid Mk) #1

Hello,

I am trying to create a tensile structure using kangaroo and for some reason the definition wont recognize all the anchor points and only attach to a few of them (image attached).

I was wondering if there is a solution for this.

I am using kangaroo 0099 since I couldnt find the ‘spring component’ in the newer versions of kangaroo.

Thanks,

Hi Omid,
The component you are looking for in the current version is EdgeLengths to create all edges at once, or Length if you need to set them individually.
Without seeing the file I can’t say for sure, but I expect the reason your anchor points are not affecting the shape is that they do not lie on mesh vertices.
Just anchoring a point somewhere on a mesh face or edge will not affect the relaxation - it needs to be on a vertex.

Thanks Daniel, I am installing the new kangaroo to test your file.
I also saved the definition here for your review.
Thanks again,
