I’m looking to match the viewports between Rhino and Revit so I don’t have to manipulate my working views twice (e.g. to zoom and orient the view to element). I’d like have my Top view in Rhino match the active plan view in Revit and similarly match 3d views with each other. I have looked into the view components, but I can’t seem to find any component that allows me to do this. Does anyone have any pointers?
Hi Intous,
Cntl+Shift to open a Viewport Synced.
You can also create and maintain via Rhino GH1 components
Odd, today I downloaded the latest Rhino.Inside, but there’s no tooltip for opening a synced viewport. So I wasn’t sure the thread I saw on this was up to date. I’m on Revit 2025.2 and Rhino 8.13.
E: I see that the tooltip doesn’t show immediately, you have to wait for a bit.
Can you also drive the Revit view? In the GH script, Revit is dominant, but I also need a Rhino dominant mode.
Yes you can, there are components for creating Revit Views in the Views tab.
Here is a quick intro guide for creating views.
@Japhy could the other OpenViewport options with workplane and zoom synchronisation be added to the Revit shortcuts?
The script to sync the Rhino view screws up the viewport aspect ratio:
The active view component should have a synchronisation option in the right click menu, because it does not update when another view is activated:
I’m also noticing these visual artifacts due to view clipping:
Thanks for the feedback. We’ll touch back with more details when we can dig into these (not likely today)
No worries, thanks for getting back to me.
I’ll update to 2025.3, hopefully the 3dconnexion issues will be fixed so I won’t have to do these workarounds.
