Substance material render mesh

I’m looked to apply a substance material to add some texture/displacement to a surface and then export a mesh to send for CNC tooling creation.

Extracting the render mesh does not pull the displacement as it does using Rhino’s displacement maps.

Has anyone had any success trying to do this?

are you sure the texture is in the displacement setting?

the material displacement does not extract, you have to use the displacement tool-

Thanks for the reply on this! Using the displacement tool works great, but I’ve been applying a displacement using substance materials, which doesn’t use that tool. It still gives a displacement, and renders great, but the mesh just extracts flat.


There is currently no way to get the displaced results from PBR materials. For Rendered mode that displacement is done in-shader, and for Raytraced and Rhino Render essentially the same.
