I think I need a file that shows this behavior and steps to reproduce. What I did: I placed a link block in an existing file I created a layout Placed some text Copied the text (Cmd+C) Pasted in a modeling view (Cmd+V) Nothing happens at this point.

Here’s a simple example with a linked *.step and *.dxf The blocks are set to linked, referenced copy_paste_issue.3dm (70.4 KB) collet.stp (83.4 KB) box_100.dxf (101.1 KB) I select the text or curve in the viewport. Does’t need to be in the layout. Ctrl+C causes the *.step file to re-import. I …
