I’ve just noticed that special characters in capital leters are causing a very odd resizing in the size of the texts. You can see that the same phrase is printed completely different because the Í
This just happens after the last update (texts were printing correctly before. have I messed something? was it the last Rhino update?
All texts in all my drawings are changing very strangely now
The bug is tracked as RH-92565 — filed just a couple days ago (Feb 18), so the dev team is aware.
Your options right now:
Downgrade — the original reporter confirmed everything works correctly there. You can grab older SRs from the Rhino download page under “Previous Versions.”
Use Raster Output as a temporary workaround when printing to PDF — the problem only affects Vector Output.
Hi, I have the same problem. Text vith special characters is bigger but letters stays in same place. It starts after update. The problem is only with new texts - texts which was written before update works well…
I have to say I still can’t find the link to download the older Service Releases. Could you please provide it?
Regarding Raster in the meantime, fortunately this was only an internal revision. However, I would be extremely stressed if this happened on a deliverable due date.
How can I track when this issue will be fixed in future releases?
This is marked as a regression and looks to be in progress for the next release. I added this thread and to it as well (a resolved post will be generated on this thread)
thank you I’ve seen the link. I I noticed that the Rhino .exe doesn’t want to execute because it shows a message saying that a more recent version is already installed.
Before I go ahead and uninstall (and honestly, I’m a bit scared that all the customizations and plugins I’ve set up could get lost), is there any trick to install the older version and bypass this “more recent version installed” stop?
thank you @brian and @Japhy .. One last doubt. why is it grayed out my window to check for updates?. ( before it was working fine.. and I was able to click check for updates.. even if it was “updated” already)
The “Enable Updates and Usage Statistics” checkbox being greyed out means it was disabled during the original Rhino installation, often via deployment.
Repair the Rhino installation
Open Windows Add or Remove Programs
Find Rhino in the list and click Modify → Repair
During the repair, you’ll be prompted to accept the privacy/usage policy — make sure to check that option
After repair, the checkbox in Rhino Options should be enabled again
well. still grayed out.. It happend that 3 days ago I updated to the Service release candidate of that day.. and I unckecked the “let rhino automatically download updates”. (right because of the experience with this issue of the special characters).. . and I followed the Repair steps and still grayed out..
Could you please share again a link in a message to download it? maybe installing a different installer from a file will finally solve this other issue of the updates..
