The new component Family does not work with some Categories in 2024. For example if I try to create a family with the Walls category I get the following error.
Is that a limitation of Revit 2024? Any way to bypass that?

You are correct. Revit System Families are different than Component Families. System Families such as Walls, Stairs, Floors and such do not have templates.

I see…
One limitation I found is:
Opt 1: I create direct shapes into this new family (but changing their materials in Revit is not possible)
Opt 2: I create geometry as Family Form inside a new Family, but then I cannot assign the Category as in the video to the new family. Neither the individual category for each geometry element inside.
Have I hit a wall?
