Solid extrude curve refuses 0.001inch

Hi, V5
A set of stencils drawn with curves, which I then extruded 0.001 inch to have as paper thin for wrap onto a compond curve, successfully I hasten to add.

I have just come to make another a year or so later, using the same curves, and solid extrude curve 0.001inch sees nothing happen

try for 0.1 inch and it performs.

draw a new simple shape in a new file and,

see attached, refuses to extrude.

tolerance is 0.001

whats going on ?

Try a tolerance of 0.0001 … it should be an order of magnitude smaller than the smallest feature you are using.
