Simple sweep2

Why can’t the simple part be activated here in the sweep2 option?

As far as I remember, this particular option needs to use input curves with the same number of control points to work properly.

If you upload the model, it will be easier to observe the issue and find a viable solution.

My previous post (deleted) was incorrect. Bobbi is correct. The Simple sweep option available in Rhino 5 and early does have requirements for the same number of control points.

But the Mert’s file meets that requirement. My recollection is the requirements for Simple sweep are more than just same number of control points. These requirements were rarely met so the option Simple sweep option was discontinued.

As I expected, the problem comes from the fact that your two rails are not split at the points where they meet the single vertical rail. Once you split the two rails (or split their copies to keep the original large curves) and use only their segments that are necessary, the simplified “Swee2rails” works properly.

Unfortunately, unlike other CAD programs, Rhino still does not offer a “Partial” option to make the whole process more convenient. Without such an option, the Rhino users are forced to split the input rails (or their copies) to be able to create simple sweeps.

Thank you for your answers. However, in a video I watched, the instructor can do it as I shared in the pictures below. Why can’t we do it? What is the point we are missing?
