Simple Sculptor Plugin for Rhinoceros V: 7–8–9 no ZBrush no Sculptris no Clayoo
Hello! My name is Taras, and I’m an independent developer and digital artist from Ukraine. I’m building Simple Sculptor, a lightweight and intuitive plugin for sculpting Mesh and SubD objects directly in Rhino 7, 8, and 9. Platform: Windows / macOS(in development)
This tool is designed for designers, modelers, and artists who want to shape geometry with ease — without bulky interfaces or overcomplicated tools. Whether you’re tweaking details or forming bold organic shapes, Simple Sculptor gives you responsive, real-time control over your geometry. I still have a long and long process to complete to optimize and create UI. So I ask you to support the project on Patreon
Blob
Pushes mesh outward or inward into a spherical shape with settings to control the amount of pinching at the edge of the sphere.
Crease
Creates sharp indents or ridges by pushing or pulling the mesh, while pinching the vertices together.
Flatten****Contrast
The Flatten brush determines an “area plane” located by default at the average height above/below the vertices within the brush area. The vertices are then pulled towards this plane. The inverse of the Flatten brush is the Contrast brush which pushes vertices up or down away from the brush plane.
Pinch
The Snake Hook brush tends to loose volume along the stroke, with pinch > 0.5 it’s possible to sculpt shapes without loosing volume.
Scale
Scales the mesh uniformly in or out from the center of the brush. The effect radiates from the center, shrinking or enlarging the mesh while preserving the surface detail and topology flow.
Twist
Rotates the mesh around the brush center, twisting the geometry in a circular motion along the brush’s axis.
Drag
Moves mesh vertices by pulling them in the direction of the brush stroke. Unlike Grab, which affects a larger area uniformly, Drag deforms the surface more locally, following the cursor path closely.
Move Infinite
Moves mesh vertices across an unlimited distance in the direction of the brush stroke, affecting all vertices under the brush regardless of depth.
Draw
Moves vertices in or out based on the average normal of the vertices that fit within the painted brush stroke. with the ability to change the brush appearance using GraphMapper.
For easier installation and getting more people on board, I’d highly recommend to use packagemanager and Food4Rhino to share this. .rhi is depricated technology (and win only)

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to, I can’t do anything better than Zbrush. My goal is to make sure that Rhino can survive in this fierce competition because in my opinion, it is far behind in developing new features. (Joke.) or not?
For me too, it doesn’t have to be ZBrush. After using it for years, I’ve realized there aren’t real alternatives—just compromises. If this plugin lets you do even a bit of sculpting like in Blender, it saves me from having to import and export just for small tweaks that Rhino can’t handle, or would just take longer to do.
