My simple Rhino file has a size of almost 6,000,000 KB compared to much more complicated files on muy computer which are around 50,000 KB. I did an audit on the file and the objects are eating up all the space. I haven’t a clue as to why. There are about 150 objects, zero meshes, and basic polys.
Here’s an image of the model:
The highlighted members are particularly large (168882035 Bytes)
We would need the file to figure it out.

Here’s the 3dmAudit, I’ll try to upload the file. Would this tell you anything? As far as creating the objects that make up the frame members, they’re are extrusions made polysurfaces after using BooleanDifference to create the dado notches.

Hmm, what plug-in? Do the objects have some sort of hi-res texture/material applied?
I was wondering about that as well, but the only texture applied is the default plaster. Could there be a plug-in running in the background from the point of starting the file? I haven’t downloaded any new plug-ins lately that would be causing such a heavy file though. I appreciate the help by the way, I’ve never gone to a forum for help and am pleasantly surprised by the abundant assistance.
Can you export just one of them and post it here ? Zip the file and see how large the result is, I think the limit is around 10Mb.

Hm - List chokes on the object - how was it made? Try -Export > SavePluginData=No, then delete and re-import.

The part was made with a simple extrusion. The notches in it were made by BooleanDifferencing similar parts. I tried your method of exporting without saving plugin data and reimporting with no change in file size.
Hi Jack - can you please run SystemInfo in Rhino and post the results? I suspect a plug-in here…
At any rate Select > Explode >Join seems to sort it out.

I just did a few simple tests. BooleanDifferencing a basic rectangular extrusion and using one of the heavy members as the subtracting object caused that simple extrusion to suddenly jump up to a ridiculous size in the Audit3dm.
Initial extrusion size: 1733 bytes
Post BooleanDifference with member: 168749441 bytes
It does not do this when I boolean difference subtracting with other freshly made extrustions. It’s like these parts I’ve made have been corrupted or something
