Shapediver gives problems in Rhino 8 Beta

Hello. I get an error message when i start rhino 8 Beta saying " error loading - SdRhinoStargateClient.rhp" This happened after i updated the ShapeDiver Plugin for Rhino 8/Beta(Septembre 29th). The ShapeDiver Plugin also gives me an error when used:“the file writing plugin failed” Any solutions? Thanx.

We are about to release version 1.16.1 of the plugin package which should fix this problem for Rhino 8.

Same error on fresh both Rhino 8 and ShapeDiver install.

How did you install the plugin and which version is it?

By fresh, do you mean you never installed ShapeDiver, even for other Rhino versions? In the negative, did you try to follow the instructions of the warning section in this article?

I had to switch to NETFramework instead of NETCore using SetDotNetRuntime command in Rhino to make it running. But I guess that this is just a workaround, not a solution.

Anyway, by “fresh” install I mean the computer was purged from previous version of SD as well as from residual files. ShapeDiver version is 1.17.

Hi @PetrVacek, for Rhino 8 this is currently a requirement for the ShapeDiver plug-in to work. We are working on a version which supports both NETFramework and NETCore.

Hi, is there any update on this?
Also is there a way to uninstall the Shapediver in the meantime? as it keeps giving me errors when i load GH.

The latest version of the ShapeDiver plugin, which you can get from the package manager, is multi-targeted, which means it should work without issues in both configurations. Please update the plugin and let me know if it fixes the issue.

You can also uninstall any plugin from the package manager as well, in case you are still running into issues.

Hi, Im having problems uploading my model (v8) via a designer plus account as it shows an error (It says i need to change the backend to v8). The same model i have uploaded on a free account with no issues. On the paid account i have set the backend to V8 but still no luck. Am i missing something?

Could you let me know which username you are using on the platform? Are you now part of an organization? A small issue was introduced in the last update regarding backends for members of organizations, which will be fixed this week.
