Setting- Door threshold?

Hello together

I have the following question for you. Where is the door setting for door thresholds? I first tried to lift the door frame slightly = threshold… But then the part of the frame is not on the ground.
(Solution Please without creating a block)

Raised door frame

Without lifting

Hello @Boris_87,

This feature is still not implemented. We have it in our list though and I have just added your vote. In the meantime, you can create a solid with Rhino, and extract a solid from the leaf; here is the example:

Door.3dm (3.1 MB)

Hello Alfonso,

Thank you very much for your reply. I have tried it. When I export the door and open it in ArchiCAD, the system does not recognize that there is a threshold. But if I move the door upwards it does…funny… I have set the threshold or the solid on the IFC door, but unfortunately ArchiCAD does not recognize that either. If you could implement this feature in a next version that would be great.

Many greetings

Hello @Boris_87,

For the task you are currently doing, do you need the door threshold for this door style only?

Hello Alfonso,

I need the door thresholds for different doors. But I use your solution. Thanks again!

What else I noticed. I have downloaded the Villa Savoye model for comparison. Why does it not show in ArchiCAD the door frame (2D) ? And the hatching pattern?

Many greetings
Boris

Hello @Boris_87,

If you open the exported IFC file with VisualARQ, Solibri, Revit or any other IFC reader, are these doors correctly read? If the answer is yes, then this is an ArchiCAD issue (as a guess, it might have something to do with level of detail: https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/user-guide/89399/).

In Revit 2020, too, unfortunately. I have tested this in my current project and thought at first it is with my model. That’s why I downloaded your sample object and tried it in ArchiCAD and now also in Revit. I have seen that it also affects the windows.

Hello @Boris_87,

I reimported an IFC to VisualARQ just to check if this information was being exported to IFC and it is, so it must something to fix with the Archicad or Revit settings depending on how they are displaying openings imported from IFC in 2D. I suggest you get in touch with their technical support team to figure out how to change these doors and windows 2D display.

Hello Alfonso,

Thank you very much for checking. Since the IFC file remains unchanged during import/export it is a visual story. I think for sure the other VisualARQ users are also interested because most of the customers use Revit, ArchiCAD or other. I am also sure that 99% of all customers see this as a mistake and look twice at the next quote! This should not be the case…

I hope it is due to a simple system setting.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Many greetings
Boris

Hello @Boris_87,

For now, it looks like it something related with the Revit and ArchiCAD settings, so in this case there is nothing we can do. I’ll keep aware of this issue and if there is something we can do to improve it from our side, I will report it; we are also interested to have this workflow working in the best possible way.
