Same file but different result between V7 and V8
I am not a professional in Render, but why is the result different?
What are the correct settings?

In version 7, it is very clear.
The banding is caused by the denoiser that is now built-in and automatically enabled. With nothing selected and the raytraced viewport active disable the post effect in the viewport settings.
The black parts are due to coincident surfaces. Make sure you don’t have any
