Rigid body simulations

Hey guys,

Is there an easy way to perform a rigid body simulation in Grasshopper? By strange coincidence I found an image on the first Google search which brought up exactly what I want to do: put capsules in a bottle, but it was cinema 4D.

I’m pretty sure Blender does this sort of thing but I don’t really want to learn Blender, Grasshopper on the other hand :slightly_smiling:

Has anyone used this: RhinoPhysics http://meshconsultants.ca/?p=874 it comes up as a threat with Norton but the website looks legit…

Thanks in advance!

Andy

Hi Andy,

Daniel Piker’s GH plugin, Kangaroo has lot’s of physics based components: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/kangaroo

There is some documentation too, as it takes a bit of proficiency to use. - Not that I’m doubting your’s of course!!

Best,

David

Thanks David,

I’ve installed it and had a look and a read of some of the documentation but it appears to be rigid bodies as linkages etc? Collision detection with points and curves as far as I can see at the moment.

I need to look into it more. Looks like I’m going to have to do it the old fashioned way as I’m out of time.

Thanks for the tip though. I was looking at http://www.grasshopper3d.com/video/rhinophysx-rigidbodies-mp4 also but can’t seem to get it to work.
