Rhino7 problem

Hello,

What is happening with Rhino 7 on my computer? I cannot get the interface fully in French. The toolbars and drop-down menus are inconsistent, showing a mix of French and English.

In addition, the default files such as HDRI maps and environment maps for the analysis tools are missing. The predefined Rhino templates are also no longer available.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software, and I also tried repairing it using the installation file. I checked the plugins in the settings and enabled them all, but every time I close and reopen Rhino, the plugins return as “not loaded.”

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

is your operating system set up in French or English?

if it’s french, try a repair on Rhino

It is configured to French.

I’ve already tried repairing Rhino from the installation file, but that didn’t change anything.

Once you fix the issue, I highly recommend you to make a backup of the “settings” folder located here:
C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\7.0

If something gets wrong in the future, use the backup to restore that folder.

“Ah okay, thanks for the idea. I’ll definitely try that as soon as this issue is fixed.
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Rhino several times. Yesterday, I deleted all those folders hoping things would be fixed after a fresh installation, but not at all.”

In the end, I managed to solve the problem by going to the folder:
C:\ProgramData\McNeel\Rhinoceros\7.0\Packages.
I found the (fr) package hidden there. I’m not even sure how I got the idea to look in that location, but I wonder why it didn’t install automatically with the main Rhino installation file.
What’s strange is that the Spanish package did install automatically. I tried switching Rhino to Spanish to see if it behaved normally, and to my surprise — yes, everything worked perfectly!
So, the issue only occurred with the French language, which doesn’t install automatically.

Anyway, I tried again by deleting all Rhino-related files from my PC to see if the Spanish package would install automatically, but this time it didn’t — even Spanish didn’t install automatically.
I’m not sure whether this is due to some configuration issue on my Windows 11 setup or if it’s a problem with Rhino itself.

in any case problem solved
