Rhino7 Freezing system wide when trying to import outboard engine

Rhino7 and WiP Crashes everytime I try to import this outboard engine exported from Solidworks. All 3 instances of Rhino that I had open (one with the boat, one with simple curves for paper printing and the one importing the outboatd engine) froze mid import, always on the same face count (on the igs).

I have this outboard engine on SolidWorks, I need to send it to a 3rd party that works only on Rhino, so being the good human being I try to be I was planning on sending him the 3dm file converted.

the problem is that any way I try to import it on rhino (IGES or Part) Rhino freezes, every time in the same face count number. Also SolidWorks is giving error and being unable to export as STEP.

I even downloaded Rhino WiP to see if it could handle it, but no luck.

Any help/ideas are appreciated.

GrabCAD WorkBench Link

edit1: after uploading to workbench to try to share the file, the workbench visualization tool showed a mess of a surface, it is trying to repair by itself.

The part file opened here okay, but the model sure seems to have some issues with it, some bad geometry and some stuff that sure looks like messed-up geometry that “Selbadobjects” doesn’t find.

After workbench did his “fixing” I noticed the number of faces to open the IGES fell a bit, but it still freezes when I try to open it.

Maybe it is something with my systems?

Well your system needs driver updates but I doubt that’s the problem. The .sldprt file does open in Rhino, but it’s screwy. Where did this model come from? Did you make it?

Hello- I would try disabling elefront in Options > Plug-ins - then close and restart Rhino - does that make any difference?
