Rhino Windows vs. Rhino Macbook

Good morning, everyone!
Rather than a question I’d like to ask for sort off feedback…

What is the overall satisfaction level of rhino users for windows? I have been using rhino for mac for 7 years now. Just recently I’ve started using rhino for windows in my office and I have to admit that iOS is, in my opinion just supreme. Starting with small issues as making planarsrf from polylines or using Boolean difference, Extrudesrf to modify polysurf… And these are all pretty banal commands.
Anyone having similar or completely opposite feedback?
I am using rhino6 on my mac (paid licence) while I have downloaded rhino7 for windows (atm free trial, but honestly due the poor performance I dont even know if I will be paying the full version). Could this be the issue?

Please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino for Windows and post the results.
I suspect we will find problems and may be correctable.

When either Windows or Mac Rhino are running on properly configured, good hardware, they are very comparable products.

The main difference is user interface, and anyone’s preference is a personal choice.

All of these work fine in Windows Rhino. In general geometric commands are pretty much the same on either platform. There are other issues such as display that are a lot different, but making a PlanarSrf from exactly the same closed, planar polyline on either platform should do exactly the same thing.

Here you go!
Usually the problems are not serious, eventually I manage to “bypass” the problem using another command or just redoing the geometry and making it more simple. But such problems I never had with Apple. Rhino could literally boolean difference anything, now it really struggles to make anything.

Hardware could be an issue, I agree. My macbook has pretty strong ram and processor (1TB, i9) while the windows (32GB, i7)

You’re running on a very old computer, running a discontinued GPU, with a GPU driver from 2015 <gasp!>

This driver is a bit newer from 2016.
It might help to update it:

Basically you put your poor old Grandfather in a foot race and seems to be surprised he’s not running with the leaders.

If you’re serious about running Rhino, here’s some good advice for choosing new hardware:

haha! loved the grandpa analogy
I actually thought this might be the reason. Still, surprised as Revit has not shown similar deficiencies.
I will need to see what can I do about this.
Thank you very much!
