Rhino visualization not changeable (for me)

Hi everyone,

I could not figure out how to change the view so that I can see the coordiantsystem, planes, etc. Instead all four views are blank. I made a screenshoot of what I wrote an from the used system. Could the issue caused by the hardware?

Thanks a lot
Malte

Hi Malte -
Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.
-wim

Thanks Wim.

Hi Malte -

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before on a Mac - but it explains the trouble you’re having.

Your machine is from 2009, and that might be pushing things.
Have you tried turning off GPU Tessellation in Rhino Preferences -> OpenGL?
-wim

HI Wim,

thanks for your help. GPU Tesselation still turned off by default. I found out that the graphic card supports only openGL3.2. The latest is 4.0?.. It seems like I have to look for a new machine.

Best regards
Malte

Hi Malte -

On Windows, most drivers support 4.6. Support for OpenGL on newer versions of macOS is troublesome and that’s why Rhino 8 will target Metal on Macs.
