Rhino using Microsoft GDI Generic rather than NVidia GPU

Rhino 7 + 8 appear to not be using my Nvidia GPU.

I only noticed this after a debilitating slow down in my viewports and not being able to print PDFs.

How do I fix this? Urgent issue! Any rapid responses would be most appreciated!!!
SystemInfo below says the Nvidia card is not being used…

ATTENTION:
Laptop is using the slower, less reliable integrated graphics device and probably needs a configuration change.

  • Any hardware configuration or cabling changes you make will require that you restart Rhino.

Update:

all working now. Seemed to be due to a partially installed Windows update. A restart did the trick, phew!
