Rhino Surprise commands

The forum is a daily place I visit for a lot of reasons. I don’t deal with about 90% of the issues people post on here. It’s nice to read and pick up on aspects of what people are posting and learn from them and how it can relate to my workflow. I learn something new almost everyday in some form or another. I have using Rhino for 20 years and still find commands that I forgot about or didn’t know about.

Set Dimension Layer… really!? I have been setting dimension on a manual layers for years. Forgetting to set them dimensions to the appropriate layer and have to go back and organize them to make sure they are not on my CAM layer. It’s on my check list that I have to run through before sending my file on. How did I miss this command? Apparently has been around since V7. My mind its blown that I didn’t know this until to day. Kicking myself and left wondering what else am I missing. Justed wanted show some love for this newly found command.

I made this apart of my template layout so that all dimensions to to a set layer automatically.

Again, the reason I come to the forum as my morning routine. Rhino always finds a way to surprise me sometimes. Today the forum made my workday a whole lot better. Thank you.

check out What rhino commands do you use on a regular basis and think others don't know about?

My favorite command is “ListAllTestCommands”. Opens a text field and copies all the test commands into the clipboard. At least in my dreams.:smiley:

one never stops learning Rhino

Set text layer is also needed.

Hi 454 -

That request is on the list as RH-2857 Dimension layer
-wim

Or a dedicated toolbar with all test commands listed vertically inside individual text buttons.
