Hello all, I have been using Rhino + Vray on a daily basis for years. Recently I changed my workflow and I am using Rhino + Enscape on a daily basis and C4D for higher end stuff.
I know Vray and Enscape don’t like each other and I uninstalled Vray but still had some issues. Yesterday I removed entirely Enscape, and Rhino and reinstalled them, since then I am not able to open almost any file anymore.
As soon as I try to open a file bigger than a couple of MB rhino crashes (not responding).
This happens both in standard and safe mode.
Rhino can open a new file and can open VERY basic files, anything with complexity (and I guess materials) crashes it.
I removed Enscape but it did not resolve the issue.
Here’s the log:
Rhino 6 SR21 2019-12-17 (Rhino 6, 6.21.19351.09141, Git hash:master @ 4d373f64ffb55e3a8d607d9618590728d86fb1e9)
License type: Commercial, build 2019-12-17
License details: LAN Zoo Network Node Checked Out
Windows 10.0 SR0.0 or greater (Physical RAM: 32Gb)

No luck, drivers are not validated and I don’t feel comfortable updating the driver bypassing intel’s safety. Even the website you linked does not recommend that in case of dual video cards.
Rhino should not be using the intel card at all, only the nvidia…
I did more test on different files, the issue seems to be with any file that has a material created in Enscape or Vray
Files with no materials or rhino materials only work smoothly
I removed Rhino and reinstalled it WITHOUT updating to the latest update (12/17 i believe) and it works.
I installed Enscape as well and it also run smoothly without any problem
I will try to update rhino again tonight to see if the problem is really there
Resuscitating this thread for a quick update, I resolved to install the updated Intel drivers and I still have the same problem, the latest version of Rhino crashes when i open any file with non-Rhino materials. Going back to SR 11 resolves the problem. Any guess on a solution?
Thanks!
