Rhino italicizing or bolding font even if I turn it off

Rhino 6 is suddenly making all my dimensions and text bold and/or italicized. Even when I turn it off, it will be italicized again. I’ve been using Rhino for years and never had this happen.

Hello - what font is set in the annotation style?

-Pascal

Century Gothic Ive been using the same font for years.

Hello - can you please run SystemInfo in Rhino and copy/paste the output here?

Hello- I know this seems like a stretch, and it is, but we’ve seen plug-ins impacting seemingly completely unrelated things - can you please disable (with only one Rhino running) Vray in in Options > Plug-ins page, and then close and restart Rhino? Is there any change?

Pascal

I disabled that and reinstalled the font. one of them worked. Thank you as always Pascal!

I having the same issue with Rhino 8 now.

I have persistent italic…

Any font, once I set it to italic, will not go back to normal even switching off italic several times or changing font.
It looks regular, but once I apply the text command I get it in Italic!
very frustrating…

Hi Mirkos -

This issue is on the list as RH-63361 TextObject: Persistent Italic and Bold

thanks for the reply!
as I see this post is from 4 years ago…

described solition is:
I have tested it and works if I change from curves to solids and back to curves.

I tried it… not working… :frowning:

The workaround I gave to @mirkos applies to Text Objects. The Italic lock-up also occurs in Text Blocks where once you have set something italic all subsequent text blocks will be italic regardless of whether you set the option or not.

As a workaround you can unset this forced italic by selecting a different capitalization option from the choices to the right of the font box in the Text panel (this even works if you do it before entering any text).

Also, the italic lock-up does not apply in the Properties panel, so you can change italicization of individual text blocks there instead of using the Text panel.

Great, that worked out!
Thanks a lot!!!
We were getting crazy about this here in the office…

Not sure what Text Blocks are…
We always use the Text Object command but the Text command of the dimensions commands is much better and more versatile as I can correct letters and change styles until it fits the design and only then convert to curves!

Never thought about that…

Thanks again!
