Rhino freezes until the internet is disconnected

Rhino freezes or starts after a very long time, but if I disconnect the internet connection, it starts. The same behavior occurs when selecting ‘Material.’ Not always, but often, it happens with both version 7 and 8 on Mac (MBP Intel). It seems to be on some networks, not all.
It’s not tied to a specific Rhino file. And open Rhino on a PC on the same network doesn’t have that problem.

Could it be related to the Cloud Zoo license in combination with settings in the network/router? But I have no idea.

Hi Vidar,

Can you run SystemInfo in the Rhino command line and post your results? just the Rhino 8 will suffice at this time. Thanks

Hej Vidar -

Thanks.
We have a similar and unresolved issue on the list as RH-51291 Active internet connection causes periodic freezes

Can you provide more information about what works and what doesn’t?

Hi, thank you for looking into it.
I’m working on trying to find a correlation between when Rhino starts normally and when it freezes, depending on different networks. Unfortunately, productivity at work needs to take precedence over troubleshooting, but I’ll get back as soon as I find something. I’ve had this bug for a while, even with R7. The quick solution is just to toggle the internet connection on and off, but it’s frustrating if you’re in a meeting on Teams, for example, and need to open a file in Rhino.
Right now, it seems to be working normally.
