Did you get a chance to try Nikolay’s suggestions?
If you isolate a small sample we can take a look here as well (sans 3d party plugins)

Oh, this worked. I had my assets in my office server, but once relocated it to a local folder, the file opened faster.
Thank you.
Update:
This is still taking a lot of time, even after moving my assets to a local place in my drive. I’ve test this in rhino 7 and it doesn’t have this problem. It just stays there searching for embedded files…
Sometimes, i just press cancel and the files open but in wireframe? maybe is the initial mesh shading that it’s taking time??
UPDATE 2:
I just move the rhino file, and opened it from my local drive and it opened without trouble.
I work from shared server in my firm, this has never been an issue. Maybe rhino 8 has trouble finding textures/meshes on servers?
UPDATE 3
Files still take it’s opening locally, and the common denominator is rhino trying to find textures in heavy models. Sometimes i keep pressing esc to cancel the initial meshing and open in wireframe.
