Hi,
Section Line weights shown on the layout page are not showing on the pdf -
I have played with the “section style” settings to no avail
I am using a clipping plane and arctic mode.
see attached comparison , what is stopping the lineweights showing on the pdf ?
To my knowledge, there is no natively working solution for vector PDF printing other than Clipping drawings, which allow you to play with line weight and type.
There is a solution but most hate it. It’s to overlay viewports with each containing a different shade mode. Bring your “Vector” shade mode to the front with “bringToFront” command. The “Vector” shade mode will be custom, derived from one of Rhino’s vector-compatible shade modes. There’s a lot to it - setting up line weights, print color… etc… and be aware of the “print display” state. it’s a pain to set up but once set up it works just fine if, for example, you can use the same template and styles for all your projects.
There’s a catch: The line width is HUGE in Rhino so you have to do a bit of trial and error.
The “Arctic” display mode will print as Vector. There’s also something going on with the hatch scaling but once the details overlap it hides it.
Once you find a system you can stick with you can consistently get good results. I’m kind of winging this because I’ve been doing something a little different with my actual work and sometimes even just settling with raster output (it looks pretty good anyways).

Good method, thank you for sharing.
Unfortunately this will not help much with playing lineweight or linetype.
Technical DM doesn’t currently allow to modify such parameters, according to message in my post above.
I have no idea what “DM” is and it’s not actually mentioned in your post above, so I don’t know what that entails.
You can modify line weights for just about everything. I’ve shown one way to do it there’s likely more. It’s not perfect of course and you have limitations. But almost every line weight is controllable. Moreso with Raster if you can get away with Raster output.
DM is Display mode.
The question about lineweights was in the first post of this topic.
Do you have possibility to make vector output of two cubes in the same Detail with different lineweight? If yes, please share the example.
