I know there are a lot of similar posts, but i have noy been able to find a solution for my problem through them, so now i am asking for help. I am currently creating som elevation drawings and i am trying to create a print layout that can be exported as vectors, yet still shows the lineweights i have assigned to my layers, rather than having to set pixel width in a display mode. Wireframe shows too many curves, and would require a lot of cleanup. Shaded view gives me the result i am looking for, yet can only be exported as raster. I have tried using the section drawings with background turned on for this same purpose, yet they have no lineweights either, and wont show hatches despite them being turned on Any suggestions?
Hej Nicoline -
You can vector print from viewports / details that are in one of the “Technical” display modes (Technical, Artistic, Pen, Monochrome) but this feature was added very late in the development cycle of Rhino 8 and doesn’t provide much control over line weights. It will result in a vector PDF that could be imported in Rhino for further work.
On the other hand, if you use the ClippingDrawings
workflow, new geometry will be placed on new layers that are locked by default. You can unlock those layers to select geometry and either by layer or by object set the line weight properties as you like.

Hi again. Thank you for the reply!
In the wireframe and shaded display modes, it is possible to set the surface edge settings and the curve settings to “use objects width”. Is there any way that this can be done to one of the technical display modes? I am aware that it is not currently possible, since i´ve struggled with it for a few days now, but is there any way to make it possible?
Since my entire drawing essentially is the background, the clippingdrawings has everything on the same layer, which is not optimal for my workflow.
