Rhino 8 - Mac Drag-and-drop

Hello,

I am starting to have to deal with a lot of bugs that I don’t really know how others can test.
I’m running Rhino 8 on a 2019 iMac, which admittedly is starting to get a little sluggish, my normal use involves a 2015 Thunderbolt monitor as an extended display.

It began as noticing an issue with drafting: Dimensions don’t snap correctly when drafting in layout if my window is on the iMac desktop, so to draft I have to drag the window to the Thunderbolt Monitor, however, hatches don’t appear to work on the thunderbolt monitor, so I have to drag the window back to the iMac to hatch things.

A follow up issue is that in my workflow on the Mac, I do a lot of screenshotting model views and messaging them to colleagues to show progress. If I screenshot something in Rhino, then drag the screenshot to messages, Rhino crashes. I’ve since discovered that any drag-and-drop file move while Rhino has an active window on my desktop, will crash Rhino.

I find this odd, and it is starting to take up a lot of time. It also doesn’t happen with any other software on my computer.
I can only assume it is Graphics Card related…?

My system is as follows:
iMac, Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019
3.6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9
Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 GB
72 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Built-in Display: 27-inch (5120 × 2880)

Apple Thunderbolt Display
27-inch (2560 × 1440)

Thanks,

Nick

Happens to me too! I have an M2 Max MacBook Pro and the same thing happens all the time.
It’s frustrating to not be able to drag any photo and pass through an open Rhino File, because it will crash in most cases.

I think the drag and drop problems have been discussed in

and in

This is the YT issue for the problem. RH-83787 Acceptable Drag/Drop Files cause Rhino to be very laggy

Looking at the YT some fixes have been done to v8, but it does not show which release.
