If I purchase a single user academic license for Rhino 7 now, will I have to pay to upgrade to Rhino 8 when it comes out?
Yes. The V7 will continue working indefinitely of course, but if you want to use V8, then an upgrade will be necessary. Educational upgrades are relatively inexpensive.
Thanks for the reply. Even if relatively expensive the upgrade would still be coming out of my own pocket, so I’ll hold off until v8 is released.
Rhino 8 is not coming out very soon, you might be out of academic status by the time it does. Also, if your school was on the ball with this stuff they’re allowed to provide you with V7 for EVEN LESS.
