When selecting an object from “select object” popover window in the model space, which usually shows up where selecting amidst several objects overlapping in view, there is always about a second of lag whether I actually select an object or none. During this lag I no commend or view orbit would work. This doesn’t seem to be a performance issue as I can select very complex objects with no lag if selected directly without triggering the select object popover.
Updating to the latest R19 release candidate 2 did not remove this issue.

hi @taektonic
pls run _SystemInfo in Rhino and post back the results. Does this happen in all models? Also when you draw, say, a couple of boxes on top of each other?
Hi @Gijs
This hang only occurs when selecting object through the popover window, not when an object is directly selected. This happens on all models including a simple scene with two boxes that I try to select one of them when viewport shows them overlapped in view and object selection window pops up when trying to click on one.
Attached is the sysinfo data I just queried. Sysinfo.txt (12.8 KB)
@Gijs I just tested it with Enscape disabled and Rhino restarted. The lag persists even so. Not sure if you have access to a Mac with M series chip, but I wonder if this is something you could test on your end… Simply by having several objects overlap in viewport with Ghost view on so you can see other objects through one another, then trying to select something that would toggle the object selection popover, and selecting one from the list or none to see if there is small lag if you try to orbit view immediately upon selection.
I am using Rhino 8.25 on macOS Tahoe, and I’m having the same issue. Rhino need to wait for 2 second after select object from the “Choose Objects” pop-up window.
I am having the same issue. Attached is my system info. Has anyone found a solution to this? There is a two second lag after the “choose objects” window closes where I cannot do anything.
It happens in all rhino files I use – old ones and new ones. The problem only occurs when I need to use the choose objects window, no matter what type of object. After I choose, there is a lag where everything freezes for 2-3 seconds.

It happens in this file. There is lag when selecting. Happens in shaded views and heavier views like arctic or monochrome. The lags gets better / goes away when I turn off properties or change to the layers tab or another panel.
Same issue here, after 15 min of working on a 200Mo model. When I close both the properties panel and the layers panel, the freeze after selection / deselection disappears.
