Hello, upgraded from Rhino 7 to 8 on a Macbook Pro M1.
I noticed the much beloved Command Editor to create keyboard shortcuts are no longer in Rhino 8. So I copy and pasted my Rhino 7 keyboard shortcuts into a document and painstakingly manually imputing each command + keyboard shortcut via the Settings / Keyboard controls window. Also, some of the Rhino 7 commands are not recognized in Rhino 8. For instance, in Rhino 7, I used: ⌃⇧P Surface from planar curves
When I input this into Rhino 8, the command line says: The “Surface” object selection option is available only when selecting objects.
Also, when creating shortcuts for Isolate and Unisolate, those never work either.
Is there a cheat sheet list to easily copy and paste commands from? I love how fast rendering is now but the inefficient keyboard shortcuts is slowing down my workflow as you’re forced to know the command name verbatim. Unless I’m really slow and there’s a simple solution…
FYI, I did import my R7 preferences into R8 but that made my computer crash every 10 mins or so. Started from scratch and stabilized a bit better though it still crashes pretty frequently, especially when rendering. Plus, not all the R7 keyboard shortcuts worked in R8 which is a bit strange.
Appreciate your time and thank you in advance and praying for a simple solution!
In Rhino 7, when you go to the Command Editor and find ⌃⇧P in the list of Keyboard Shortcuts, you need to select that entry and look at the script this keyboard shortcut executes. You will see that in the Script field at the bottom right. In this case, I suppose that says PlanarSrf. This is the command / script / macro that you need to input in Rhino 8.
That’s possibly the same issue, but hard to tell. Can you perhaps provide a screenshot of these in the in the Keyboard table?

very beghosted topic that nobody ever really replied to which left many flabbergasted. i would love to know whos hat this decision to cripple Rhino so hard just to match the retarded windows version of a command editor went on… i am still so angry about it.
Ok, looks like I had both the Isolate and Unisolate shortcuts set with the Control key ^ and looks like the new R8 doesn’t support this key when creating shortcuts. I was able to find other key combos to make it work. One thing to point out is the combo of Option key + i does not work. It is not assigned to anything else either. Thanks for the feedback and hopefully we see the Command Editor for Mac and Windows in the future. It was a great feature!
If all goes well, a new public version of Rhino 8.13 goes out in 30-ish hours from now that shouldn’t crash when rendering. Please report back if you are still experiencing crashes when running that version.

Oh, one other thing that may or may not be related but when I Record Animation with Render Full, it crashes after completing the 1st frame and analyzing the 2nd frame to render.
Thanks!
This should be fixed in the 8.13 SRC that hopefully comes out later today/early tomorrow morning. It is the same underlying issue as what has been mentioned for your earlier mentioned render crashes.
