after upgrading MAC OS to the 15.3.1, rhino keep crashing when i start the application.
are you submitting the crash report? that would help finding the cause of this issue.
Also, if you have older builds of Rhino, do they crash as well if you try to run them?
yes, i’m report the crash, and i have the latest Rhino.
did you provide an email address and/or description? Without it, it will be hard to find the crash report.
I would not be surprised if it were the same as and helped by Rhino 8 Crashes when I try to use Materials - #2 by nathanletwory
@Applications_license as @Gijs mentions, please enter your e-mail address as well, that helps us devs find the crash reports more reliably.
If you want me to have a quick look you could copy&paste the crash report (the text from th “Problem and System Information” box) from that reporter dialog here as well.
Hi i have the same problem, after updating MAC OS rhino is crashing all the time. Some files I can’t even open other ones when I try to apply material it crashes.
Did you resolve the problem?
@Santa pls run _SystemInfo in Rhino and post back the results

do you need also crash report?
@Santa if Rhino crashes and you get a crash report, yes, pls send these in, they are extremely helpful in solving these kind of bugs.
Does Rhino also crash if you disable Enscape?
I have checked the crashreports. Follow the steps here:
I did its lets see. Before I had it on metal and not cpu. Why it’s not working on metal - isn’t metal render better than cpu?
regards crash report it’s too long and I can’t put it here but I’m sending it all the time when it’s appear
I already checked your crash reports. The instructions to switch to CPU will help until a fix is found - most likely from Apple’s side.
Can you elaborate on what the issue might be, even from Apple’s side?
I am considering purchasing Rhino but I don’t want to do so if Rhino has some rendering broken and it’s something that Apple won’t fix.
Something in Metal driver crashes. I am unable to repro on my own M2 Max MacbookPro, but the crash reports are clear and we’re collaborating with them to find a fix.
Rendering works for Raytraced and Rhino Render, but if you run into this particular crash you’ll have to switch to CPU until a fix is available.
this actually worked, and the issue is solved, thank you so much
A post was split to a new topic: Crash copying components
I have a similar problem but cant even change to cpu before it is crashing. It already crashes when I open the rendering window or the render settings.
same with materials tab etc.
