Just download the rhino 7 in windows parallel with v-ray. Everything is working except the asset editor. I can’t open the asset editor window no matter how many times i restart the windows and Rhino. I can still do rendering and even put the X-ray lighting. Only asset editor is not opening.
Used both rhino 6/7 with v-ray but this never happens before.

C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\V-Ray for Rhinoceros\V7\VRayForRhino.rhp “V-Ray for Rhino”
I am currently using vray in rhino 7 via parallels on a Mac M2 chip. Rhino and Vray always had been working for my on my last intel chip Mac, so naively assumed I could keep working as usual on a faster computer. After loading everything on a fresh computer I also had the same issue with the asset editor not working. Ugh. Somehow we (my student and our IT) stumbled on a workaround that if you start Rhino 7 with “Run as Administrator” then the asset editor would work. May work for you? It worked through late May for me, however as of today I noticed the workaround stopped working. I am not sure if it is because I updated Rhino, V-Ray, or Parallels…or something else
So, I switched back to V-ray 6.0. It didn’t work…restarted, then it worked again Sometimes even without Running as Administrator…so not perfect, but manageable. I wish they would fix this!
If anyone finds the recipe for 100% success, please post!
I was having the same problem, sometimes working, sometimes not.
It seems that closing, deleting all the temp files in C:\Users{$user}\AppData\Roaming\Chaos Group\V-Ray for Rhinoceros - works for me.
I got the idea from here: Rhino + Vray Frame Buffer Window AWOL? - #2 by Dave_Burke
Allocate more RAM to the virtual machine in the parallels settings. Don’t use more than 1/2 your computer’s total RAM. I had 8gb by default but increased to 32gb.
If it still doesn’t work, run rhino as administrator. I recommend the first option because it will make v ray work much faster.
