It has been a week that Rhino7 randomly crashes and sometimes freezes my whole computer. It does not appear in the task manager (which also does not respond after a while) and I have to perform a hard reset everytime. I recently re-installed Rhino7 as I was operating with Rhino8 tha past few months. I run Dell diagnostics (Ryzen G15 ) and eveyrhting seems to be fine and up to date. In general this first occured months ago when I first downloaded Rhino8 and I was in a very heavy drawing .Back then when my computer was in sleep mode it would not open up again or it would randomly reboot. Furthermore as I am consistently using grasshoper I noticed it needed x10 more time to compute. It seemed to have been resolved until now as I was more careful and changed the power mode settings.

Starting with versions of Windows 11 Insider Preview 26090.1, Rhinoceros 7, version 7.38 stopped starting and hangs in the task manager in the background all the time. Reinstalling Rhinoceros 7 and updating to Windows 11 Insider Preview 26100.1 did not resolve the error.
However, Rhinoceros 8 version works fine.
Uh I think we need more detail about what all that actually entails. I use Rhino 7 every day, and have everything backed up to Google Drive, which I would halt using immediately if it ever seemed to become a source of crashing.
Sorry to reopen the topic but the I’m experiencing the same behaviour and new drivers from nvidia are not working for me. Rhino 7, all of a sudden (same drivers here since years) started to crash on startup: windows opens but it “freezes” not possible to force-close and the process is not appearing in Task manager. It only works in safe mode with GPU OPENGL at minimum level, but as soon as I start to make it higher and re-start in normal mode it freezes again. I tried to repair windows 11, repair Rhino 7 and update NVidia drivers to more recent ones (last available fr my PC are 2020 ones). Nothing seems to work…
