I have a new windows 11 laptop with rhino 7, but I can’t get the CPlane to AutoAlign. I have it working on my old machine with the same rhino package. If I set Cplane to object it automatically aligns the viewport to the new Cplane on my old machine, but nothing changes on my new machine. Super frustrating as this is messing with my workflow..
There is nothing in the status bar, and no Auto Align Cplane prompt either.
Yes, I am aware, but I have it working on rhino 7 on my old machine. Perhaps it was a python script. It’s been so long since I made the tweak, I don’t recall what I did to get it working on rhino 7. On my old machine If I click to a Cplane set to surface it auto aligns, so it’s a custom setting. I miss it. I’m not changing to rhino 8 right now either. Anyone else know how you can set this command on rhino 7?
Open your older rhino in your old machine and shift+right click on the icon you use to auto align cplane.
What does it say?
Do a screen capture and post the image with the icon information.
Is it a macro or script, if so copy it to your new machine and/or post it here so others can check if it’s still working.
It was in fact a custom python script I use that was rendered mute by a simple modelling aids setting: construction planes needed to be switched to universal. So, thanks to the brilliance of my python coding friend, I have cplane auto align in rhino 7 again. Phew, life is so much harder without it.
