Rhino 6 mac crashes when opening, very slow and unresponsive

Hi,

We are currently experiencing problems with Rhino 6 mac on the following system:

mac mini 2016, late 2014, memory 16GB, 3Ghz i7, Intel Iris Graphics 1536MB, running OSX Catalina, Rhino mac 6.26

Rhino is very slow, crashes when opening a new file or opening an existing file, shows too thick lines when drawing in 2d (in fact you cannot draw because it looks so false)

I already posted a picture, there is a graphic problem with line widths on this system. This is the thinnest line width (print display is off).

which release of Catalina are you on?

Catalina 10.15.5

We have the same problem (line thickness) with a mac mini, same spec as before and High Sierra.

What working display mode are you using?
Is it one of the default ones like Wireframe or one you created and modified?

This is with Wireframe (same result on Rendered or Shaded)
Display mode not modified.
Preferences>Display Modes>Objects>Curves>Curve Width = 1

Something as yet unknown seems to be very wrong.
How many monitors are you running?
What resolutions?

Please run the Rhino “SystemInfo” command and post the results.

Thanks

We have this problem on both comptures. Same specs, one is running High Sierra, one Catalina.

Both computers are connected to two EIZO EV2216W with default resolution.

On both computers Rhino mac 5 runs like a cat with no graphic or performance issues at all, as well as does other software (Blender 2.82, Affinity Photo - Designer - Publisher, Maxwell Render v.5)

Here is computer n.1

There is no question Mac 5 will run better on those under powered Intel Iris graphics chips.
V6 display is much more complicated to allow for better performance on the better display chips, and to mostly unify the OpenGL display code on both Mac and Windows.
Driving two monitors dramatically increased the load on the graphics even at normal screen resolution.
I’ve not yet given up on improving this but nothing specific is standing out and an obvious cause beyond that.

I suppose it’s possible that the Maxwell plug-in could be complicating display performance.
You might try disabling it in Preferences > Plugins, Quit (Cmd+Q) and restart V6.
I’d also try a single monitor with Maxwell disabled to see if there is a noticeable improvement.

This is the other computer, no Maxwell installed. This one also crashes when entering in Raytraced Mode.

Same problem with line widths.

Does this already happen with just say a simple box, or even just empty model?

edit: in contrast, if you have access to the Rhino WIP - does that work any better with Raytraced?
